Wyoming " Jades " come in many types and varieties. Not all Wyoming Jade is 100% true Nephrite and a specific gravity test will show this. Pink Jade is really Thulite but the old timers found that it took a good polish and the name Pink Jade stuck in time. Wyoming " Jades" that have inclusions may only have a minimal amount of Nephrite mixed in with other minerals in nature. These Wyoming " Jades " occurred near active Nephrite loads and when the old timers seen that they were interesting with character and took a good polish they were then mined out and sold as exotic Wyoming "Jades". Please know your Wyoming " Jades " and inspect the photos closely before making an offer. Photos have been taken both dry, and with oil on the cut faces to enhance the internal colors and textures of this specimen. It is not polished. This specimen has some fractures. Pictures have been taken as true to life in colors and at times the contrast will be set lower to accent the specimens texture so please inspect the photos for the most accurate color, shape and texture of this specimen. The Wyoming Jade Fields have been hunted hard since the 1940's at the beginning of the Jade Rush Days. Most Wyoming Nephrite over 1 pound was easily spotted and hauled away when our Grandparents were young. This is why Wyoming Nephrite / Jade is becoming a increasingly scarce commodity as time passes.
