Description: This is an extremely fine World War II U.S. M1 Steel Combat helmet with camouflage net that is in complete and near mint condition. The helmet shell has a front rim seam and swivel bales at the sides dating to pre-November 1943. The chinstraps are light OD in color, un frayed, and with darkened brass buckle and split ‘J’ hook fittings at the ends. The shell is fitted with an OD green camouflage net with ½-inch openings and held tightly in place by an original OD green elastic band. The high-pressure liner is by Firestone with their stylized ‘F’ logo in the interior dome. The suspension system is of light OD khaki webbing with a non-adjustable, snap-in nape strap. One of the suspension straps is marked with the original owner’s name ‘SZCZESIAK’ and on another ‘RJS’. The original brown leather liner chinstrap is in place and with a black finished adjustment buckle and placed over the brim. The original leather sweatband is securely fasted to the webbing by the spring clips. This is one beautiful example that has not been fooled with and remains in excellent combat used condition.8913
