Description: Thandiwe Newton — Westworld — "Maeve Millay" — Screen-Used Prop Tablet + "Felix" (Leonardo Nam) Host Bird This prop tablet was screen-used by actress Thandie/Thandiwe Newton as character "Maeve Millay" and by actor Leonardo Nam as character "Felix Lutz" in the hit HBO Max sci-fi Western drama Westworld. Also included is the artificial "host" bird that Felix revives and controls using this tablet prop. They were purchased from the official, studio-direct auction of props & wardrobe from the series, conducted earlier this year by Heritage Auction Galleries, and were used in several episodes throughout Season 1. The tablet is Felix's Delos tablet, which he uses to diagnose and repair hosts; we see him use it to revive an artificial bird which he uses to practice his host programming skills, and then we see Maeve take the tablet from Felix and use it multiple times throughout the season in order to adjust her "bulk apperception" and other abilities, in her attempts to learn more about her situation and to eventually escape. Maeve is able to blackmail Felix into letting her use the tablet, because he's not supposed to have a higher-privileged programmer's tablet or the artificial bird; he took them from the other department, in order to try to teach himself host programming. The prop tablet is a nonfunctional piece of black ceramic or similar, with the edges painted metallic silver, and with four orange bits of tape placed at the corners of the screen for CGI motion tracking. It has incised lines to represent the folds of the tri-fold tablet, and was used whenever a rigid, fully folded-out version of the tablet was needed. All of the hero tablets in the series were nonfunctional, so that the user-interface displays could be added in post-production using computer-generated effects, which made it easier to edit scenes and adjust the computer displays to say whatever was needed in time with the actors' touches. While some props were hinged for certain scenes, most are either fully-unfolded single-slabs with incised lines where the folds would be, or folded versions made by stacking 3 smaller pieces together unevenly with an adhesive. They were switched out between shots based on need. This particular tablet has some dust on the front and fingerprints/handprints on the back, which could be removed; but I've left it as-is from production, since the handprints are likely the actors' from where the tablet was held during filming. You will receive the original screen-used unfolded prop tablet, the original bird prop, the original Heritage Auction Galleries COA for the lot which contained these two items plus a folded tablet prop (folded tablet NOT included), and a high-resolution copy of the Heritage Auctions lot tag for the lot. A very significant artifact — the tablet Maeve herself used to improve her abilities and aid her escape — used by one of the most memorable heroines of the past decade; you're unlikely to see another Thandie Newton/Maeve Millay item as nice at anywhere near this price for a long time. Given the recent rise of AI, Westworld is more relevant and prescient than ever. Original screen-worn boots used by Dolores/Evan Rachel Wood are available in a separate auction listing, and I'll be listing items from several other films & TV shows. Please note that the above images are for informational purposes only, and no other items or pictures are included. Note also that I do sometimes end auctions early to sell to the current high bidder; so, if I list an item that you very much want, please either bid early or use Buy-it-Now, or the listing may end before you can bid/buy. Shipping may take up to 7 business days from receipt of cleared payment. If you need shipping by UPS/FedEx instead of USPS or eBay International, let me know and I can accommodate that. Feel free to message me with questions at any time.
