Description: Rare genuine vintage with original custom paint Wassell all Steel peanut gas tank, this tank is very clean on the outside with a vintage looking patina all round as show inside looks very good but old gas smell varnish that needs cleaning out, few small chips and marks and drip stains, but I would say it has a nice old patina. This tank has the superb chopper bobber shape, looks nicer in the hand than my photos at distance show, an excellent tank for the Harley Davidson, Triumph, BSA, Indian, Norton Chopper or Bobber custom motorcycle. Made in England during the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's these gas tanks were made at the time for Trials and scrambles machines also, but they look best on vintage style and period custom bobber and chopper motorcycles. These have angled petcock mounts for rocker box clearance, measurements length 14.5 inches not including rear tab, width 9 inches, 8 inches tall not including tabs, tunnel at deepest is 6 inches and tunnel at shallow end is 2 inches, all measurement are at extremities and not perfectly exact but very close, i believe it holds 1.5 or 2 gallons of fuel. This is thee tank for custom bike building in my opinion, Please be aware Inflation has hit us sellers hard, packing materials, gas, cost of goods, postage has gone through the roof, as are eBays fees.
