Description: This is a really interesting old hand bearing nautical compass with a magnifying prism. It is marked Japan on the base. It is in the exact style that a Weems and Plath or Sea-Master is. The compass mechanism is in overall good shape. The backlight is working (slightly finicky though), the liquid and glass are clear. There is some dust and small imperfections etc. the middle of the compass has some wear from where it rotates it looks like (pictured). It appears to point to magnetic north and reacts quickly. It has no obvious bubbles in the liquid. The box has part of a hinge missing and thin crack in the side, both pictured. It feels very heavy duty and well made. It weighs a little more than 3.5lbs total including batteries.
