Description: New York Knife Co. was in business from 1856 to 1931. It was formed by a group of cutlers from Waterville Manufacturing that had gone on strike. They made a premium quality knife and had great success, but went bankrupt in 1931. The tang stamp on this knife was used during the entire history of the company and so does not help to date this knife. I don't remember seeing another New York Knife easy opener with this etching on the blade. This is a very fancy and early specimen from New York Knife. This knife is in very nice condition. It appears to be missing one pin and the point on the longer blade is worn. See photos for details. Fully open, the knife is just over 5.5". Closed, the knife is 3.125" in length.
