It looks gray in pictures because of the flash, but I wanted you to be able to see the condition if the fabric better. The body is knit and the sleeves and collar are velvet like. It is missing one button, but you could move the button closest to the collar down to the missing spot and it wouldn’t be noticeable. It is in excellent condition for its age. It seems to be an oversized fit too and not shrunk from laundering. From 1997, dry clean only, 27 inches long shoulder to hem and about 22 inches armpit to armpit.
