If you are looking for a culture that you can immediately harvest from then I would recommend the 12 oz culture. The 5 oz culture can be harvested from as well, but there is not as many eels to be harvested. Vinegar eels are extremely easy to culture and are much easier to culture than other comparable live foods, such as micro worms. You will receive care instructions with your package in the mail with simple instructions on about to maintain and ensure that your culture thrives! You will also receive information about how to harvest your vinegar eels when you are ready to feed fry. The basic steps are to mix in a bottle 50% apple juice and 50% apple cider vinegar in a bottle, add a few slices of fresh, washed apples, then add your purchased culture and in no time you will have millions of vinegar eels ready for harvest. An initial culture will last you months, and if you remember to add a few more apple slices you can keep it going for years! I would recommend to have several cultures going just in case something goes wrong with one of them, so you have a backup. Vinegar eels do best in temperatures of 65-90 degrees Fahrenheit, so please do not order without a heat pack if where you live is below freezing or above 90 degrees.
