Large book published by the Grolier Club in 1980 showcasing the development of photography in the 19th century, making particular effort to collate and preserve early photographs in print. Very near fine book with the slightest bit of shelf-wear, in the original glassine wrap which is slightly chipped and has one small stain, and the original slipcase which has some scuffs and sunning; both glassine and slipcase have done their job protecting the book. Internally pristine. Association copy from Robert L. Nikirk, librarian of the Grolier Club and a specialist in antiquarian books, to poet and photographic historian John Wood.
