Description: This is the prose work that the Russian writer Leonid Andreyev considered his finest, but sadly it is nearly impossible to find as a physical print of this book. It is a brilliant, moving, tragic story that I'd rank alongside any more well-known Russian classics but it is unobtainable in print. The work itself is in the public domain and it is easy to find the text online (as well as free audiobook version) but if you're like me, you like to have physical copies of the best books. On finishing the story, I was moved enough to format it into a PDF and have it printed using a self-publishing service. I put together a little cover and added two other Andreyev stories that fit well thematically: Dies Irae and The City. Initially I did this just so I'd have the book for my own library. Andreyev is one of my favorite Russian authors but it seems that, sadly, he is not very well-known these days, at least in USA where I live. It seemed wrong that there was no way to buy this wonderful story anywhere so I ordered a bunch of extra copies of the book and am putting it on here in case someone else wants it as I did. The books turned out great. If anyone wants the PDF for the proof, email me and I can send it for free. I am only charging enough to just break even on these but if anyone really wants the book and cannot afford the price, email me and ask.
