Description: PLEASE wait until October 2024 or after to order paw paw seeds. We still have seeds, but are running VERY Low! The price WILL be dropped when more seeds are harvested! Ginseng, American (Panax quinquefolius) seeds Unfortunately, ginseng seeds are sold out until fall 2024. You can 'watch', 'favorite' or 'heart' this listing and check back in the fall. I also have native Pennsylvania and native West Virginia paw paw, Asimina triloba, seeds available, if you'd like those, just add to cart from this drop down menu. You'll get a mix of both types of Paw Paw seeds. I added them to this listing to save on shipping for those who want both ginseng and pawpaw, but feel free to order only one or the other. If shipping is wrong, add to cart and request a new total. If you order them separately and pay separately, I can still ship together and send some extra seeds or upgrade to priority IF I notice that they've been paid for by the same buyer or if you send a message that I see before the labels are printed. If you'd like to see the separate listings, AND get a better price on the paw paw seeds, look in my store, click on 'Categories' and choose the "Plants and Seeds" category. Shipping should stay the same no matter how many seeds you order. NO SALES OUTSIDE OF THE US ! Ginseng seed not available internationally, due to CITES regulations. DO NOT order these seeds if you are located outside of the United States! I currently have no ginseng seeds left until fall 2023. I didn't take the time to count the seeds, but they're spread out in the photos if you'd like to to get an estimate of how many ginseng seeds you'll get. I estimated 130-150 for a tablespoon and didn't even try to count the 1/4 cup, 1/4 lb or the 1/2 lb. If you count the seeds in the picture for 1 tablespoon or the 1/4 cup, let me know and I'll add it to the description as an estimate. A few photos show a huge pile of seeds that are obviously more than the listing, that should not be confused with the quantities offered in the drop down menu. Those photos are shown to show a sample of the seeds you will get. If you search on the internet, 'how many ginseng seeds are in a pound of seeds', you should get an idea of how many seeds are in a half or quarter pound. I currently have no ginseng seeds left until fall 2023. No matter how many are available, if the quantity you want show sold out, but it's obvious I have them based on the other quantities available, just message me. For instance, in the above menu,if it says there are 2 half pound lots available but you want 1 lb at the better price or only a Tablespoon full, I can do that, just send a message. The amount changes often as I sell these locally and we continue to plant as time and weather allow. Purchase using the drop down menu. Available quantities will be in the drop down menu. Shipping should stay the same no matter the purchase amount, so get some extra to share or for guerrilla gardening. If there are enough in the smaller quantities, and you want a larger quantity, just send a message and I'll try my best to accommodate what you need. Prices are $5 for a tablespoon of seeds, $15 for 1/4 cup of seeds, $?? for 1/4 pound, and $?? for 1/2 pound of seeds. If you'd like a 1 lb bag of seeds for $??, send me a message and I'll add that to the listing if it's available. Your seeds will arrive in a plastic zipper bag with a dampened piece paper towel piece inside. Cultivation: The best advice is simple advice. Find a shady area on your land where there is good drainage, scrape the leaf mulch away, plant the seeds singly 6 inches apart and 1 inch deep, and cover back up with leaf mulch. We also grow ginseng in pots, and treat those the same way. Just shelter them from the sun and the critters. This fall we're planting ginseng seeds under our paw paw trees to see how that goes. Some seeds may arrive already beginning to sprout. The sprouts nor the seeds should not be allowed to dry out. For best results they should be planted as soon as possible after arrival. Ginseng should not be fertilized or fed unless your land is low in calcium. If it is, don't add limestone. Limestone frees up too many nutrients. If you need to add calcium, only use gypsum. If immediate planting is not possible, remove the seeds from their baggie and store in moist sand or vermiculite in an open container placed in a cool location (5° C / 40° F). This is necessary to allow the seeds to breathe. Seeds may be stored until the spring this way but germination will not be as good, which is why you will notice ginseng seed prices are highest in the fall and prices are reduced going into spring. If your ground is workable, plant as soon as possible. Selection of proper location, preparation of soil and good drainage are important. The best site is a hardwood forest to provide dense shade. Similar drainage and shade conditions should be maintained when growing ginseng in pots or under shade cloth.NO SALES OUTSIDE OF THE US !
