See our Dummy Head DIY Kit listing! Make us an offer or buy it now!! Attractive black SR3D Logo We have now been able to create shiny ears, we believe that the glossy finish is a more natural finish as ears are naturally shiny with wax within the pinna, we believe that this will enhance the binaural effect, all our microphones made from April will now have the new improved ears. Please see the assembly video below to see how easy the setting up is - best if you have finger nails for installing the grommet! No need to fill the inside the tube, as we put cotton wool behind the capsules now, to stop sound leaks from behind the capsules. 2 ears 1 Tube 190 X 65 X 65 mm 2 Standard microphones (not Primo) 1 microphone stereo splitter 1 Grommet1 Grommet for microphone wire hole This is a DIY microphone that you can assemble yourself. It comes with holes pre-made in the tube and ears, and the microphones are a tight push fit into the ears. We now assemble the adapter nut for you and have added an extra hole for the wire to come out of the bottom of the microphone, it has a soft silicone rubber stop that can be swapped to the rear hole if you want to use the different hole for the wire exit. To assemble the microphone, simply fit one ear and fill the void in the tube with tissue paper (update - cotton filler is now inserted into the mics to stop any unwanted sound from entering from the back of the ears) and then fit the last ear. This helps to prevent any sound from entering from the back of the ears and affecting your recordings. The ears are a firm push fit into the tube and won't fall out, but you can seal them in place with a little white silicone sealant for a neater finish. The grommet is for the hole at the rear of the microphone, through which you should pass the mic wires before installing the grommet. It is a tight fit, but will go in. If you experience noise when connecting the microphone directly to a computer via the microphone input on your sound card, try running on battery power if you are using a laptop. Alternatively, you can use our USB adapter, which has stereo input and 24bit 48kHz capabilities. Please note that if you are plugging the microphone into a computer, the microphone input must be stereo or you will need to use the USB adapter for stereo recording. This microphone weighs about 450g and uses plug-in-power from your recorder, computer, or camera with a stereo microphone socket. It comes with a 12-month return to base warranty, although the buyer pays return postage. Shipping to the UK is £10 and includes next business day delivery. Shipping to the rest of the world is £20 and is sent via Royal Mail International tracked service.
