Up for your consideration & buying pleasure is this Beautiful Early 1960s Slingerland Radio King 8-Lug Krupa Model Snare Drum. A very rare and desirable Model, this early 60s RK has the desirable 3-point strainer with Extended butt plate design to accommodate 16” wires. The extended bridges makes this model very unique.A lot of these RKs had the Super Krupa - Clam Shell throw offs installed. Note: There are shadows in some of the photos that are NOT in the silver sparkling pearl finish. Also, before I owned this RK someone put a small hole in the finish into the shell.I professionally repaired this and you can barely notice this in the finish. As collectors we refer to this snare as the Gene Krupa Model.Gene preferred a 3-point strainer with string design and this was a Slingerland/Krupa collaborated design. The first Krupa model Radio King cataloged, technically had 8-Streamline lugs and was 6.5 x14, very similar to this Model with the early extended bridges. This 1-Ply Maple Shell, Silver Sparkle Snare Drum is the desirable rare 60s model Radio King. This RK Snare Drum is Sporting the original Black N Gold Early Niles 60s Badge. This Silver Sparkling Pearl has the older full streaming sparkles that has slightly aged in coloration to a medium silver and has no freckling spots or major issues.
