Description: Maker: The renowned Limoges firm A. Lanternier, whose mark appears on the reverse of these six lovely ramekins, produced and decorated high quality porcelain from around 1880 until just after World War 1. Marks and age: The company's red decorator's mark number 1, dating to the 1890s, and a green Limoges France white ware mark that came into use in 1891 appear on all the pieces. Source: third edition of the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston. Design: In keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the company's porcelain so famous, and so coveted, the pure white fine porcelain set is beautifully trimmed in gold. Size: The ramekins are 4 3/8 inches wide and 1 inch tall. Together they weigh 1 pound 3 ounces. Condition: There are no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, scratches, or crazing. The bases have darkened somewhat - that's shown in the photos. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
