Description: For auction is a very nice piece of art pottery made by The Roseville Pottery Company of Zanesville, Ohio. The pattern is called "Luffa" and the shape is a vase. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6 1/4" tall and is 4" in diameter at its widest point at the bottom. The inside opening is 2 1/8" wide inside top lip measurements. The vase depicts a tropical flower on a terrace like effect with large tropical leaves crossing over the terrace. The colors are warm and are done in earth tones. The background is a pleasing matte brown mix. The flowers are done in a creamy white with yellow centers. The large vertical hanging tropical leaves are a softer pastel teal green. This design is on both sides of the vase. The top neck is a deeper brown than the bottom 2/3. The inside neck is a semi gloss sage green. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no chips, cracks, nicks or dings. The piece is not signed but it a well documented Roseville pattern. It has the letters "D and L" incised with a "9 and 1" written in a blue grease pencil. This is more than likely the finisher's marks. This pattern has eluded me for years and this is only my 4th piece. This is known as shape number 684-6" in the Roseville Pottery "Luffa" pattern line. This vase was made circa 1934 and considered a middle period line with Roseville Pottery collectors. PLEASE READ BELOW I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
