Rickenbacker 4001 bass 1995 USA Modified w/Bartolini pickups + preamp w/OHSC

Description: Here we have a super cool pre owned Rickenbacker 4001 4-string bass. Made in the USA in 1995. Serial number L84828. This bass is finished in the classic Fireglo. Solid body bass with a glossed fingerboard. This 4001 has been modified with Bartolini pickups and a Bartolini preamp. The hardware has been changed Gold as well as the knobs. The plastics have been changed as well. The truss rod cover is original. On the back there has been a battery compartment routed into the body. It appears to be a very nice job with room for two -9v batteries. The cover is black and it fits quite well. There Dunlop strap locks recessed into the body. This bass has a modern sound and the modifications are tasteful. She weighs 9lbs 10oz on our digital scale. The bass comes with its original hard shell case. This bass has just been setup by our technician and is playing great. It is strung with D'Addario 45-100's. The neck is straight and the truss rods are working as they should. The frets are in excellent condition. We smoothed them out just to make sure everything was perfect. The bass plays cleanly up and down the fingerboard with no issues. Cosmetically, the bass is in very good condition. It has bumps, bruised, nicks, indents and scuffs. There are a few small chips that a previous owner filled in with some sort of red paint, most likely nail polish. The back of the neck is smooth with no marks. The gloss finish on the fingerboard is in excellent shape. The gold hardware is in perfect shape with no pitting, The gold knobs has rubber grip rings around them.
