Description: Attitude (position) control is of paramount importance in spaceflight. Typically, there are two manual controls: Rotation and Translation (up/down or side/side movement). This is a 3D printed replica of the Apollo Spacecraft ACA (Attitude Control Assembly) rotational hand controller in full scale. There are several flown controllers out there, including several from Command Modules and 5 from Lunar Modules that actually landed on the Moon. As you can imagine, these command very high prices - in the six-figure range - from collectors. If you want a less expensive piece of Apollo history, here you are! Here's a bit of ACA history:When Apollo 11 landed, even before "The Eagle has landed" was said, there were several urgent housekeeping chores, such as "engine stop," "Engine arm off," and "ACA out of detent." This referred to nudging the ACA controller away from it's centered position and letting it return, which would tell the autopilot, "this is the new attitude to hold." Since the Eagle was on the surface at the time, this kept the autopilot from constantly trying to return to the pre-landing attitude. Now you know.Made of custom 3D printed plastic: will show visible layer lines. Has actual screws where screws should be. Includes base and metallic plaque.
