Description: This charming Regency period mezzotint features the Greek goddess Hebe (daughter of Zeus and Hera) with an eagle (a guise of Zeus). Hebe had the devine ability to bestow eternal youth and to restore youth to mortals. Our print was originally painted by Francois Huet Villiers (1722-1813) and engraved by C. Turner (Warren Street, Fitzroy Square) in 1817. Alternately, the engraver is also thought to be H. Meyers (1780-1847). The print appears to be in good condition but the margins are not visible in this framed form. Stock number SA2C-187
