Description: RARE W. Goebel figurine of piano player and dancing couple. Rococo style. 1935-1949. Beautiful condition. Early TMK1 Crown mark GM 509. GM stands for Gruppen Meissen (group of figurines, Meissen style). Measures approx. 3-1/4” H. Base is approx. 5-1/2” x 3”. Gilt design on scroll-molded base, lovely hand painted detail on dresses, faces, and piano. This item used to sit in a corner cabinet with two pairs of Volkstedt porcelain dancers. Despite the different manufacturers, bases were similar, the figures coordinated well, and the piano completed the dance vignette. As a little girl I was entranced and fortunately didn't break this one! Thank you for stopping by to take a look.
