Description: Really Nice Antique Edison GE Mazda Type 1900 -1910 Period Lightbulb DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....EARLY ANTIQUE Edison type lightbulb. 5" tall. The long glass central post is there as well as intact internal wires/filaments. However, I have no way of testing it, and don't know whether it works. Still a great early display piece. Bulb glass is in nice condition. The style is nice AND VERY EARLY. Looks just like the earliest style, including the blown glass tip. Made no later than 1900-1910, possibly earlier. Best part about it is that it has an original round production label with voltage info, etc. Also stencilled National Mazda on the side. This is a great early bulb for display or to complete a period lamp!! I have heard that Thomas Edison said goodbye to the bulb business in 1892, when financiers forced him out of his company (Edison General Electric), and General Electric (GE) was born. In 1910 GE trademarked the word "Mazda" for tungsten-filament bulbs, and about a year later started marketing "Edison Mazda" and "National Mazda" bulbs. This bulb would have been made in the 1900 -10 period, probably in their New Jersey plant. A particularly nice, early antique lightbulb for any collection!!! PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!!!
