Description: This is a post WWII M1 helmet in good condition. I don't know if the cover is original to the helmet, but that's how my father found it. It appears to have an older liner that has been retrofitted with a more modern headband. The liner is stenciled with the letter "C" on the front. It has the number "5" on the back, and each side is stenciled "2-46". I'm thinking the 2-46 is possibly for the now defunct 2nd Battalion 46th Infantry. If you know the meaning of the markings, please shoot me a message. I would really appreciate it. I'm always curious and ambitious to learn. There is a strip of tape on the inside with the name "OLDS" written on it. Thanks so much for taking a look at my listing. I really appreciate you. Please message me if you have any questions or feedback. I will reply as promptly as possible.
