Large Dove Brooch. Circa 1930. The back is marked with the Poul Petersen trademark and 'Sterling Hand Made' with the Canadian National Lion Hallmark. Carl Poul Petersen was born in Denmark and was an apprentice of Georg Jensen. He married one of Jensen's daughters and later moved to Montreal. His work is well-known and very collectible. Excellent Quality. A lovely piece. Diameter: 1 7/8 inches (approx. 4.5 cm) No monograms or initials. Weight: 15.8 grams Minor surface scratches / minor wear from age and gentle handling.
