Description: Listed here is an exceedingly rare antique wall map of Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County, PA published in 1858 by Thomas Hughes of Philadelphia. It is a very large lithograph map printed by Friend & Aub of Philly. Hand colored map with six tableaus of various subscriber residences in the area there. There were 60 subscriber names on it thus 60 maps printed or more. Yardleyville (as it was called in 1858) and the small village of Edgewood (DeLorenzo's Pizza area) are in the central area of the map. Swan Hotel, Slack Farm (Dolington), William Yardley residence are shown as well as three other estates. Measures maybe 29" X 41 1/2" Hard to tell from top to bottom. Has the original top and bottom wooden rods. Obviously has condition issues. Creasing and bits of paper loss (some of the loose bits of paper are laying in it so would be salvageable for restoration). The top part is torn pretty bad but I dont think there's a whole lot actually missing- Im sure some of it is but it looks worse the way the pieces are someone scrunched up. Despite the condition, this is a super rare map. Only one I could find was framed and in excellent shape and sold for over 3k. Comes as seen in photos, free shipping.
