Description: This listing is for a new old stock GM approved accessories "rear compartment luggage strap", part number 983553. I can't find this part number listed anywhere so I'm not sure when it came out, but the box sure looks late 30's to very early 50's to me, and it seems to be a fairly universal type accessory for any car with a trunk, most likely from right after WWII. The idea seems to be you'd screw the little end tabs through the straps into the wheelwell so you'd be able to belt your suitcase to the side of the trunk so it wouldn't tip over while you're driving. Box shows a bit of age (loose end flaps, slightly flattened out) but still presents pretty decent, leather straps are all unused but they show some wrinkles where they were folded to put them in the box (they're probably 80 years old after all), still has the paper bag full of mounting hardware as shown. Shipping for this item will be $10 anywhere in the continental US. Usually I can ship stuff out within a couple days, but once in a while the shop is busy and it'll take a bit longer. Let me know if you need this right away and I'll see what I can do.
