Description: Estate FindNineteenth Century Black ForestMusicJewelry Box We offer a nineteenth century Black Forest jewelry music box hand carved with flowers bordered by two carved buckled straps. The hinged box is raised on four small bun feet. Red satin lines the interior. An old Victorian chromolithograph label is attached to the underside of the box. The label features a young boy sitting on a bench and playing a pipe. A dove hovers above. An inscription in German is written on the label. As seen in the photographs, the music mechanism is corroded and does not function. The carved box measures 7 1/2" in width and 5 1/2" in depth with a height of 5 3/8".The Black Forest jewelry box is presented in very good antique condition with a non functioning music mechanism.
