The Medal is about 50 mm across, and weighs about 54.2 g. The Artist is Albert-Désiré Barre (French, 1818–1878), and the Manufacturer Gervais et Cie. Beautiful old patina. Hallmark on the edge: hand + ZINC. The Medal thus seems to be a Zinc restrike of the original medal, which is Copper and weighs about 64 g. Obverse : Tête de profil à gauche, signé : ALBERT BARRE.
