Description: Note that I have had to raise the price somewhat recently. Check here for more information about this and my projects in general: https://electronics.dose.se I call these 2.0. The features this new version has are: OPL2 (YM3812) or AdlibDSP, or Sound Blaster sampled audioAmplified audio; way louder than the previous line-level volume that previous boards hadInternal line level output connectorVolume controlMicrophone inputMicrophone voltage bias CD-ROM audio inputInternal audio, aka Micro Channel Audio Subsystem support It seems that most sound cards for the MCA bus has line level output only. Quite a few people have asked before for it to be louder, so here it is. I also added a volume control pot in the back. There is an internal line level output connector for those that want it. I know it's not ideal, but I couldn't fit more connectors on the back. I really wanted to keep the microphone input in order to keep all functions from the original Sound Blaster. The microphone voltage bias is something that is needed by some microphones to work. You can apply this voltage to either the tip or the ring of the connector. There are three CD-ROM audio connectors for internal CD-ROMs. This lets you listen to audio CDs through the sound card's speaker (incluing the PC speaker; see below!). Since there is no standard pinout for them I included three different ones, all of which are described on he back side of the board. I think this covers most setups. The internal audio support means you can route the output of the sound card to the internal PC speaker. Thus, no external speakers are required. The PC speaker is still the PC speaker however, so I assume most people would want to use an external speaker. The card is a four-layer board with separate ground and voltage planes which should keep noise down. I have ISA cards for sale which have a similar layout and people have told me that the noise level is much lower than the original Sound Blaster 1.5 / 2.0. (I don't own any original Sound Blaster, so I can't compare it myself.) All components are brand new, with the exception of the OPL2 chipset, which is kept original. Note that some components come in two versions: either through-hole mounted in sockets or surface mounted. If you are picky about this, tell me. Otherwise you will get one at random. Some chips might be surface mounted and some through-hole. They are $125. Plastic brackets are included. I will soon offer metal brackets for this board too for an extra $25. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Here you can find the ADF file for the card and also some information about my other projects: https://electronics.dose.se David
