Description: Marx #400 Locomotive and Complete O / O27 4 unit Freight Train Set __________________________________________________ This is a used Marx #400 0-4-0 steam locomotive and complete O / O27 4 unit freight train set. It is a complete train set and is in very good condition. I believe all of these components were built in the 1950's. Included in this sale are the following: 1 - Marx #400 0-4-0 locomotive, with a powerful AC motor and working headlight and lens. It runs in forward direction only as it was built to do.. The 400 was built from1953 to 1954. 1 - Marx New York Central 4 wheel tender. 1 - Marx #715100 New York Central 4 wheel gondola. 1 - Marx NYC 4 wheel caboose1 - Marx #709 50 watt toy transformer with a speed control, a 110 volt power cord, 2 conductor track power cable and a Marx track power connector for connection to the track. The transformer hums loudly when plugged in, but it works really well. 8 - O27 gauge curved track sections.4 - O27 gauge straight track sections. 1 - Standard operating instruction booklet 1 - Track polishing pad I completely assembled the set and tested everything. All parts of the train are in very good condition and it operates great. All components of the train are in very good operating condition, with no damage, no broken plastic, just some playwear scuffs and dust from about 70 years of use. The rolling stock may have some light rust on some of the metal parts and has either fixed knuckle or slot and tab type couplers. The transformer works nicely but hums loudly when plugged in. The track does have some light rust and considerable tarnish. I lightly cleaned them, made sure each track has 3 pins and the train runs nicely on these tracks. Overall, this is a nice, basic train set and is ready to set up and play with. I do not have any original manuals for this set, the Standard Operating Instruction booklet I am including offers basic tips and suggestions for operation.
