GradesEastern white shingles are not graded in the same way as western red shingles, however the quality of Maibec’s shingles is exceptional. The shape of the 16″ shingle is identical to the western red, but the wood grain and pattern is entirely different.Maibec offers two grades of shingles:Chatham (Formerly Nantucket) – A high-grade product with knots above the install line.Bar Harbor – A more rustic, tight-knot natural look.Victorian Fancy Cut16″ Maibec Victorian Fancy Cut shingles are specially-milled to a variety of beautiful shapes, and easy to paint. All shingles must be installed according to Maibec’s specific guidelines to ensure a very long-lasting product.
