Description: Lotus pods are carefully gathered by us from the lotus plant and then prepared just for you! These are good not only in aquariums but other settings as well, isopods love them! These lotus pods are generally large. In fish and shrimp tanks they provide multiple hiding places for fry and smaller shrimp. They’re also a a great surface for bio-film to grow on that the shrimp eat later on. As the pods break down you’ll notice your shrimp will also eat the pods as a food source. We personally love to use these in our shrimp tanks to provide some natural cover that also doubles as food! Pods are generally 2.0 - 3.5 inches in diameter. Since these grow in nature , please expect some variance to the color, size, and shape. These pods can be extremely hard to sink. You’ll need to follow a few extra steps before they can be added to your aquariums so that they’ll sink. Boil the pods for at least 40-60 minutes, you’ll then soak them for two days. Other tips include poking the pods with a toothpick or skewer so allow water to go inside the pod. You can squeeze them gently underwater after soaking in order to encourage water-logging.
