Description: Liza Minnelli Vintage POSTCARD 1973 Harrah's Lake Tahoe Cabaret Academy Award Classic Entertainment Postcards from Saturday's Toys presents... a vintage entertainment postcard featuring Liza Minnelli to promote her appearance at Harrah's South Shore Room at Lake Tahoe (Stateline, Nevada). The series of concerts was scheduled to run from July 19 thru August 1, 1973. The concert performances took place less than a year after Liza's blockbuster success in the film version of "Cabaret" (1972)... and only four months after she received the Oscar Award (March 27, 1973) for her performance as Sally Bowles. Postcard was created to promote the Harrah's concert with Liza and Grammy and Oscar winning songwriter / performer Paul Williams with Brian Farnon and His Orchestra. Together they would headline in the South Shore Room thru August 1, 1973 at Harrah's Tahoe hotel and casino. Paul Williams would soon eclipse his previous successes when he received the Academy Award for his song, "Evergreen", as performed by Barbra Streisand in the second remake of "A Star is Born" (1976). Clearly, the daughter of Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli had come into her own... and this represents what is widely considered to be a true high-point in her impressive career as an entertainer.
