Description: Lionel 6805 Atomic Energy Disposal Car w/ Original Box & Instructions Click image to enlarge Description You are bidding on an original postwar Lionel 6805 Atomic Energy Disposal Car which also includes its original Late Classic box and original instruction sheet. Lionel cataloged the 6805 from 1958-1959. It was included in sets 2505W, 2509WS, 2517W, and 2521WS in 1958 but was only available for separate sale in 1959. THERE ARE 23 PICTURES IN MY LISTING The 6805's are becoming hard to find with all the peripherals in this condition. Most available on ebay have no boxes and damaged canisters. These are in nice original condition. The flatcar is in pristine, super clean and in lightly run condition. The red color is vibrant throughout and the white heat-stamped lettering is crisp, bold and complete. The wheels, trucks and roller pickup have been cleaned but show very little evidence of being run. The rails have no tarnishing and are bright and shiny. The radioactive waste containers match the condition of the flatcar. They are complete with crisp, bold, and complete heat-stamped lettering. The canisters match perfectly in color, condition, and completeness. Both canisters have an issue on the top which is very hard to picture and not very visible. I have tried to picture it. Check out my pictures #9, and #10, and #23 and #24. It appears the paint was not completely applied at the factory. It is not visible unless under bright lights and up close and does not detract at all from the appearance of the canisters. Check all close up pictures of the canisters. The late classic box is complete with seven of its eight original flaps. It is missing most of one coupler flap. The box is solid with nice colors and perfect graphics and printing. There is some light soiling from age and use but no evidence of tape. It is also slightly out of square. The box is correctly numbered 6805-20. I would grade the box a C-6 out of a possible 10. These boxes are becoming very hard to find. A really nice box considering it is now 66 years old. A nice original instruction sheet rounds out the offering. It has yellowed a little with age and shows a little evidence of use. I am a long time member of the TCA and LCCA and guarantee that my descriptions are 100% accurate or your money back.
