Description: Lectures On Faith Leather Bound Hardcover Collectors Edition Theology LDS Mormon__________________________________________ Lectures on Faith Collector's Editionby numerous authorsPublished by Covenant Communications (2005) About the Book:The Lectures on Faith is the popular title of a set of seven theological lectures delivered in the School of the Elders in Kirtland, Ohio, in the winter of 1834–35. These lectures represent perhaps the earliest attempt to formulate a systematic Latter-day Saint theology, informed by the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith’s early revelations. They define faith and the conditions on which it is acquired and nourished. Condition:LIKE NEW 1st Edition Hardcover Book! Book Reviews:5/5 stars - The contents of this book provide a spiritual feast...definitely a 10+ for me.These seven lectures from the School of the Elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kirkland, Ohio were originally published in the 1935 edition of the Doctrine and Covenants. I had been searching for a deeper understanding of faith, what it is and how it operates. How do we prove that faith is the principle of action in all intelligent beings? How is it that the brother of Jared was able to remove the Mountain Zerin by faith and Joshua bade the sun and moon to stand still, and then with his faith, have them obey. How did God use faith as a power to create, and to what end was man created? How can we use faith to help us achieve our righteous desires? As you read these lectures you will vicariously experience receiving answers to these questions and other profound teachings under the powerful tutelage of the early leaders of the Church. Dennis Rasmussin, professor of philosophy at BYU adds an insightful discussion of Lecture1, as has been done with each of the other lectures by other qualified authors and lecturers. The contents of the book provide a spiritual feast.--Custom Box 5/5 stars - A Joy to Handle and Feast UponThis book is a large, beautifully bound edition of the classic LDS doctrine on faith in Jesus Christ - described in the 1985 LDS Bible Dictionary as "the most complete and systematic exposition on faith" in the world. (pg 670) This edition also contains seven discussions on the lectures by noted LDS scholars and thinkers, as well as "The True Faith" by Orson Pratt. It is, indeed, a classic, and joy to handle.-Jonathan Sevy Copyright 2018-2024 TDM Inc. The photos and text in this listing are copyrighted. I spend lots of time writing up my descriptions and despise it when un-original losers cut and paste my descriptions in as their own.
