Description: Land and Sea. Having just listed more 500 year old fishing lures than anyone else on Ebay I thought I would mix it up with a few land based artifacts. Next to the knife, the adze was the most important utilitarian tool available to the ancient Alaskan hunter. Most likely an adze blade for fleshing or chopping. Slate artifacts are easily be one of the earliest artifacts in Alaska, surviving the ravages of 1000s of Alaskan winters undiminished. Excellent size and condition.
