ITEM DESCRIPTION: Normal 0 false false false EN-US ZH-CN X-NONE We are presenting this scarce and beautiful Illinois Tri-Color Solid Gold Hunting Case Pocket Watch with a Horse Bust on the caseback. The horse bust is done in solid rose gold and it is very vivid and life-like where the angle of the neck and head emulates a real horse. It is much rarer to find an American Tri-color Gold Pocket Watch with Horse motif than other types such as the Elk/Buck, Small Birds, Houses and Flowers. It is even harder to find one in this condition where the Horse Bust and other details on the case are all still very sharp and crisp. Inside the watch a bridge style 17 jewels Illinois nickle movement serves as the timekeeper. Condition-wise the watch winds and runs well but we cannot make any guarantee on function as it is approximately 100 years old and we have not had it serviced. It looks like a strong runner so it needs nothing more than regular service to get it running superbly. Any maintenance or upkeeping is the sole responsibility of the end user. Cosmetically there are some faint hairline cracks on the dial outside 4 o’clock, 7-8 o’clock, and 11 o’clock positions. This is a fairly generic movement with a generic white enamel dial so it won’t be hard to find a replacement if so desired. Since the hairline cracks are thin, they don’t distract against the greatness of the watch overall. The case is in beautiful shape with no ding or dent that we could see. Diameter is 48mm.
