Description: Great vintage Japanese classical guitar from a famous luthier, Hiroshi Tamura! The P-45 was a mid-range instrument when it was made in 1973. It features a solid cedar top and laminated rosewood back and sides. It sounds fantastic and is currently strung with high tension strings from Augustine (new). Tamura actually won more awards over his lifetime than the more famous Japanese luthier KOHNO. Both learned there craft in Spain from the masters and came back to Japan to prefect it even further. In fact, many say that Hiroshi Tamura built better guitars than Ramirez, so they nicknamed him “Tamirez”. The guitar has several finish (not wood) cracks in the top as you can see, but no wood cracks. These cracks are typical of Tamura guitars from this era and don’t affect the sound or stability of the instrument. There are a few small chips around the back perimeter but nothing serious. Frets and neck are good and there is room on the saddle for future adjustments if desired. Tuners are brand new and were drop in replacements with no drilling required. These guitar are becoming very collectible and values are increasing. Great investment and a great playing and sounding guitar!
