A founding member in 1934 of the Forces Nouvelles, a group of young artists who sought a middle way between the Cubists and Surrealists on the one hand, and Impressionist inspired artists on the other., Humblot's work combined expressionist imagery and paint handling with Fauvist color. Works by this artist can be found in the collections of many museums throughout France including Musee des Beaux Arts de la Ville de Paris, Musee d'Art Moderne and the Musee Carnavalet in Paris and museums in Grenoble, Albi, Rodi, Nice, Sceaux, Angers, and Menton'.
