Description: This auction is for 6 individual size #8 Cinnamon 'TROUT CHOW' FOAM PELLET FLY patterns (with hi-vis indicator). Premium hand-tied flies with Fl. Orange Hi-Vis indicator (top) for good visibility on the water. This fly imitates the common trout pellets that fish from hatcheries eat for most of their lives and therefore are still attracted to one floating on the water. This is tied on a stout, straight eye, bronze #8 hook, but has a smaller 9mm diameter foam pellet tied on it. Trout pellets come small and in a darker cinnamon, but as they soak in the water they get bigger and lighter in color as the water absorbs in them. This imitates more closely the "fresh" pellet. This is also a great ALL PURPOSE terrestrial dry fly pattern for trout, bass, panfish, etc. It can imitate beetles, hoppers and be suggestive of many food sources. It can be used as a general strike indicator too, but with a hook in case fish come up and hit it. If you have ever fished for very long then you have probably experienced a fish hitting your strike indicator thinking it was a bug. Great for fishing urban ponds, public areas near hatcheries, etc. Great fly to use to take the kids out for a successful "catching" day.
