Hard to find Original First Pressing Pop / Folk / Country / Ballad Christmas album from Emmylou Harris and a great backing band including Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Ricky Skaggs, Emory Gordy, Jr., Albert Lee, Rodney Crowell, Glen D. Hardin, Brian Bowers, Brian Ahern, Hank DeVito, Frank Reckard, Tony Brown and more. In the Original Shrinkwrapped Cover with NO Barcode, Cutouts or promo markings. This is a Los Angeles First Pressing as indicated by the “✲✲” markings in the Vinyl Runout. CONDITION The Sleeve is in its Original Shrink Wrap and in great shape. There is some slight corner softening and a very slight touch of wear on the two right hand corners. Super solid with no splits, writing, stains, tears, cutouts, etc. and would rate at least EX if not Near Mint. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. There are some light scuffs, marks and hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something you can feel with a fingernail. A good VG visually but mostly plays closer to VG+ with just a few spots of slight groove noise and a couple soft tics - might be further improved with a better cleaning than I can give with my Discwasher brush. The labels show a few faint spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
