Description: Hunt Scene Salt Glaze Syrup Pitcher This exquisite Mid-Victorian Salt Glazed Syrup Jug has a intricately detailed hunt scene with extremely crisp relief pattern. Adding salt to the kiln creates a gleaming, but transparent glaze and a smooth, slightly imperfect texture similar to that of an orange. Lid with figural finial. Dates c. 1845. Kite registry mark to base indicates manufacture date of 1845. Approx 8"H X 5 1/2"W. Condition: Excellent condition relative to age, slight discoloration, one little knob on interior detached, otherwise minor imperfections to be expected. I will be listing a large Collection of Salt Glaze Stoneware, many pieces from a private collection. Terms of Sale Please review photos closely. I try and represent items as accurately as possible.
