Today, many of the trees there have been bearing fruit for centuries and there are ancient olive trees believed to be more than 2000 years old. In biblical times, the olive press was used to bruise or crush the olives. After that, they were placed in loosely woven baskets and allowed to drain. Storage vats collected the fine quality oil that would have been used in lamps. A second pressing produced a lower grade oil used for cooking." • The Holy Land Collection is an umbrella classification that encompasses all of the individual lighted buildings and accessories surrounding the birth, ministry, and death of Jesus Christ as well as the specific individual buildings and accessories released in 2000 onward.
