Description: Creil & Montereau L'ADROITE PRINCESSE 8" Faience Plate France Black & White Stunning yet funny faience plate by L & Cie, Creil & Montereau, France. This plate is titled "L' adroite Princesse" (the skillful Princess ?) and is numbered "7" I believe that it is from a series based on fairy tales rewritten by Charles Perrault. I most likely dates from the late 1800's to early 1900's, but I can not find this particular mark to be certain. It has signatures on the front, below the scene (shown in last 2 photos). If you have any information, I would love to know. Condition is wonderful! There are no chips, cracks, repairs or stains. There is what looks like a tiny divet on the edge, but it is under the shiny glaze so it is from manufacture. Enlarge and look at all photos for more details on condition, design and size.
