Description: I’ve been sewing for over 43 years, everything from christening gowns to prom dresses, to bridal attire, so you can buy with confidence. All three pieces are included in this sale: the skirt, sash, and blouse trimmed with a decorative button. You may substitute a short-sleeved blouse upon request. The skirt is a high-quality homespun plaid cotton in red with threads of green and blue. The fabric has a lovely woven texture. The waistband is drawstring and will fit anyone. This skirt is cut in three tailored panels to reduce bulkiness at the waistline and allow a full 126.5-inch circumference at the hem. The skirt is 42 inches in length but can be hemmed shorter at your request at no extra charge; just send me the length of the skirt in inches from waistband to hem. Add 2 inches to actual length if you're going to be wearing a hoop skirt, add 1 inch for a full tulle crinoline. The skirt can be worn without an underskirt. The skirt is shown over a three-hoop crinoline with a 36" diameter on the lower hoop (not included). I do not sell crinolines, but there are many available at very reasonable prices. The sash is made of a complementary green cotton blend. The sash is a generous 127 inches long and comes to a nicely tailored point on each end. The sash is folded over and sewn to be double sided. The blouse is made of white cotton blend. The long, full sleeves are gathered with elastic and end in a lovely feminine ruffle. (You may substitute a short-sleeved blouse upon request.) The blouse is generously cut for a full, gathered look, so bust measurement isn't the primary determining factor in choosing a blouse. We want it to fit under the arm and not gap at the neckline. This is not a tightly fitted blouse. Choose the size you would normally choose for a dress from a department store. The blouse runs true to size. If you are between sizes, select the smaller size. A decorative button adorns the neckline (removable for ease in laundering). The blouse is available in sizes XS (2-4, 30"-32"), S (6-8, 33"-35"), M (10-12, 36"-38"), L (14-16, 39"-41"), XL (18-20, 42"-44"), or 2X (22-24, 45"-47"). These are quality made garments, meant to be worn again and again. I recommend gentle wash cold, and line dry for the skirt and sash, and machine wash and dry delicate for the blouse.
