Description: Offered here is an interesting engraving/etching by Vincent Langlois (1756-?) and Antoine Devilliers (1784-1818) after a painting by Eustache Le Sueur (1616-1665). The image is of the muse Urania with her head crowned with stars, holding a compass and leaning on a globe showing the constellations. This engraving was made in the early 19th century (circa 1810) as part of the series, Galerie du Musee Napoleon. There is an example of this print in the online collection of the British Museum at No. 1856,0308.512. The dimensions of the piece are: height 6 1/2 in (sheet) 11 in (backing paper); width 4 1/2 in (sheet) 8 in (backing paper). This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Please read the condition description carefully and review the photographs. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. I do my best to accurately describe the items being sold, but if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest.
