You can instantly see what the transceiver is doing making your Yaesu experience much more informative and enjoyable. CatKnobz has six programmable knobs that you can easily assign to one of 30+ different settings. Another handy tool that makes using your Yaesu transceiver so much easier to use. To change a knob, just press it. Then turn it and stop on the setting you want it to change. Now when you turn that knob, your chosen setting will be changes. CatTouch & CatKnobz are designed to work together to make your Yaesu experience easier and more informed. Connection is easy. CatKnobz connects to the transceiver RS232 CAT port via the included 1.5m CAT cable. It also requires a separate 7~30V DC and has a DC jack or screw terminals for this. It has a RS232 port which you plug a 2nd CAT cable into (supplied) connects to and powers CatTouch. There are two versions of CatKnobz - please advise which you would like. Generic: Works with FT-450, FT-950, FT-991, FT-991A, FT-2000, FTdx101D, FTdx101MP, FTdx1200, FTdx3000, FTdx5000, FTdx9000. Its bracket has screw holes that fit FT-991/A bottom case screw holes. See www.catmeters.com for current list of commands CatKnobz controls When you use CatKnobz, information to and from CatTouch is interrupted so that CatKnobz can control the transceiver. Control returns back CatTouch a few seconds after you stop using CatKnobz. CatKnobz does not read or remember transceiver settings so it does not know what a particular level may be. If for example a knob is set to change TX Power, when CatKnobz is first turned on, it will assume this to be 5W and when turned will start from there. Of corse when you turn it, the transceiver will then get set to 5W (or whatever the knob stopped). At this point, both transceiver and CatKnobz will be in sync. When you power cycle CatKnobz, it will start at 5W again. To overcome this, many customers simply leave power to CatKnobz turned on. CatTouch has a resistive touch screen and requires a stylus for use. Both products have 3D printed biodegradable PLA enclosures which is not suitable for direct sunlight or very hot environments. Design files for the enclosures are freely available which you can use to print your own ABS or PETG case.
