Description: Thieme Dresden Hand Painted Watteau Scene Floral Gold Bread Plate E AS IS PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASING OR MAKING AN OFFER. Beautiful porcelain bread plate with relief molded scrollwork border. Decorated with a hand painted courting couple and trees in the center. The border has gold gilt highlights to the relief molding, hand painted flowers in pink, blue, purple, yellow, hand painted yellow and pink highlights, and orange and gold gilding along the edge. Marked on the bottom with an impressed F in a circle. This is a manufacturer's mark used by Fraureuth between 1865-1896. Also marked on the bottom with a T over an X crossed mark and Germany in blue. This is an overglaze decorator's mark used by Carl Thieme in Dresden between 1891 and 1901. Has some wear to the gilding, two large chips to the back edge, and one small chip to the back edge. Measures approximately 6 5/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
