Description: Carcassonne Japanese Buildings – Mini Expansion Japanese Buildings expands on the monasteries in the base game, allowing players to score points by using meeples as monks or abbots! When placing a Japanese Building, players can choose from two options. Firstly, they can place a meeple to act as a monk. Points are then scored later for the building itself and all adjacent tiles, up to a maximum of 9 points. Secondly, players can choose to put a meeple on its side on a Japanese Building, turning it into an abbot. At the end of the game, abbots score a point for the Japanese Building and every tile leading away from it in a straight line, for a potentially large bonus! The mini expansion is brand new and contains 6 beautiful landscape tiles featuring iconic sights in Japan: Himeji Castle, Kinkaku-ji temple in Kyoto, The Great Buddha of Kamakura, the Horyu-ji pagoda in Nara, Kaminarimon ‘thunder gate’ in Tokyo and the Goryoukaku star fort on Hokkaido.
