Description: Apex Forged Irons These were a great transition from cast game improvement irons to forged players irons. They were still very forgiving with thinner top line and excellent feedback from the forged faces and great distance. When you hit these well, you know it. When mishit - toe, heel you get feedback- which is good as a better player. Some cast irons play like you are swinging an aluminum baseball bat or a shovel- very difficult to get feedback, let alone start working the ball with a fade or draw. It was a great iron as I started to approach a single digit handicap. I didn’t have to drop $1,400 to make sure I could play/hit forged, I was’t nervous about shipping them with the airlines, and they just play great. They are standard length, 2 degrees flat, fairly new Golf pride MCC +4 grips. They were kept with iron covers (as they are forged and can get banged up if you don’t take care of them). The softer steel is why they feel so great off the face. They have KBS Tour 90 shafts. They flex to give you the highest ball flight, with the highest spin. They are comparable to the KBS Tour Lite shaft currently (see included picture of the different shaft profiles). I specifically ordered with these shafts because they are light enough for me to maintain good swing speed (without having to use graphite), minimize left-right dispersion and they optimize ball flight and spin. (eg - I hit a 7 iron 150-157yds and these give a flight trajectory high enough to cover hazards while still holding greens with great spin). Lastly because they are forged - great feel around the greens with higher irons for up and down chips, bump and runs, feel shots. Thinner profile - sole and top line also promoted more confidence rather the “shovel” feel of cast game improvement irons.
