Description: This uncirculated 5 Bulgarian lev banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bulgarian National Bank. It is a red and blue banknote that is dated 2009, bear the signatures of Ivan Iskrov and Stefan Tzvetkov, and measures 121 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side honors the artist Ivan Milev with his portrait, a detail from Milev’s painting Art and the Crown of Thorns, and a poster promoting Milev’s first 1925 exhibition in Sofia. Its reverse side depicts scenes from Milev’s paintings, A Woman Harvesting, The Bulgarian Madonna, and Wedding of the Dragon. Security features include a holographic stripe, a windowed security thread with a demetalized BNB in Cyrillic text and 5, and a watermark of Ivan Milev and an electrotype BNB in Cyrillic text.
