Description: Antique Bridgeport Gun Implement Company (B.G.I. Co) Hunting Bowie made in the US in the 1880th; hard-to-find original BGI-marked leather sheath is included. The knife is about 10-1/4" /26 cm overall; "trailing" clip-point blade is about 6-3/8” /16.2 cm. The blade has been lightly re-sharpened; the edge is very sharp still, the tip is intact. Solid full-tang construction knife with original 1880th black gutta-percha handle scales on brass pins; double-guard is nickel-plated bronze. The handle is solid; all parts are tight with no play; no chips/cracks on the handle - this type is rare this nice. Hard-to-find original BGI Co No. 521 - marked leather sheath is included. The leather is dry but all original stitching and belt hanger are intact; cuts at the throat are noted for accuracy.
